Last week, just as we were wrapping up for the day, we received a notice that a server just went down for one of our clients. Even more alarming, when we called them, they reported a "burning" smell coming from their tech room. Recognizing the potential severity of the situation, we sprang into action and headed to their location immediately.
Upon arrival, our tech quickly identified the source of the issue. The burning smell was coming from a fried UPS unit, an essential piece of equipment responsible for protecting the server from power fluctuations. It was clear that this device needed to be replaced promptly to restore normal operations and prevent any further damage.
Our experienced tech got to work without delay. We replaced the damaged UPS unit with a new one, ensuring that the server was once again protected from potential power issues. Thanks to our swift response and efficient work, the client's server was back up and running in no time, eliminating any significant downtime for our client. We conducted a thorough check of the entire system to ensure everything was functioning correctly and that there were no lingering issues.
