We recently completed a project where we had to clean up a local business's network. The network had grown over time and had become cluttered and disorganized, which made it difficult to manage and troubleshoot.
To begin, we identified all the devices connected to the network. This included computers, printers, routers, switches, and other networking equipment. Once we had a complete list, we labeled each device with its name and IP address. This made it easier to locate devices in the future and troubleshoot issues that arose.
Next, we tackled the cable organization. We made sure that all cables were properly connected and labeled and used cable ties and management accessories to keep everything in place. This helped to minimize clutter and prevent confusion when tracing cables.
Finally, we ensured that the network was secure. We set up strong passwords, updated firmware and software regularly, and configured firewalls and other security measures. This helped to protect the business's sensitive data and reduce the risk of cybersecurity threats.
The end result was a well-organized network that operated more efficiently and reduced the risk of downtime due to technical issues. The client was pleased with the work we had done, and we were happy to see everything neat and labeled!
