New Computer Setup & Data Migration

This was a fun little project that we do multiple times a week for business or residential clients. The owner of the local company received a new computer and tasked us with making sure the new computer was set up just the old one. The goal was to seamlessly transfer everything from the old Surface Laptop to the new Dell XPS 13 to where it looked like nothing had changed. When we do these migrations, we are able to ensure that ALL data is migrated over.

During this process we also make sure the printer is ready, all apps like QuickBooks or other line of business apps are moved over/installed, and auto-join to the previously known Wi-Fi networks. Bookmarks and desktop icons are also very important otherwise the user will have to slow down if they are not properly brought over. Our goal is always to make sure the client can just turn on the computer and log in as if nothing has changed!
