Project Description

Wow! The snowstorm last night was crazy, we are surprised more clients didn't have issues with the power or internet going out. This client had a power outage around 2:45 this morning that lasted for about 3 hours. When we got rolling this morning, we saw the alert that their server was offline! Yikes!!! I immediately created a ticket and started looking into the issue. With everyone being stuck, they were planning on working from home today.

I realized the internet was still functional and used the VPN on the firewall to remote into the network. Then I was able to remotely turn on their server.

You can see in the small image below that the server was gracefully shutdown. This means the battery backup worked as planned and SAFELY shutdown the server. This safe shutdown helps prevent any potential data loss.

After the server booted up everything else came back online. We feel like superheros when we can solve the issue BEFORE the client even knows it is problem.
