Threatlocker is a program that lives on your computer and helps prevent malware, spyware, ransomware, and other nasty things from running on a computer. It works by "whitelisting" all known good programs. The unknown programs are then prevented from running.
Please watch this short video (1 minute 18 seconds) to learn more about it. (Click here for a full screen video)
There are 2 modes to ThreatLocker.
- Learning Mode: This is how ThreatLocker learns what is supposed to be running on your computer. It looks at all the software you are using. We typically leave ThreatLocker in learning mode for 2-4 weeks depending on your environment. No software is blocked, just indexed.
- Secured Mode: This is when ThreatLocker is actively preventing unknown programs from running on your computer. In the video above you will see how this is handled. If you need to unblock a program use the "Send Request" button.
As always if you have any issues whatsoever please submit a ticket and we will get back to you shortly.
